National Pizza Month, October, came to fruition more than 35 years ago in 1984. Gary Durnell, former publisher of Pizza Today Magazine and a pizzeria owner himself is credited with creating what may be our favorite month ever here at Hungry Howie's®. Durnell created the month to support and spread awareness of the pizza industry and to help local pizzeria owners just like himself improve business. What better way to do just that than to dedicate an entire month to our favorite dish–pizza.
