How to Make a Pizza Cake

Picture this: a four-layer cake made out of pizza. As if that image by itself wasn't dreamy enough, now throw in a Hungry Howie’s® pizza pie, and then we really have a dream. You’ve probably seen pizza cakes trending on social media. At first sight, pizza cakes look like something impossible to achieve. But, we are here to tell you that pizza cake is real, and we’re going to show you how to make one.

What You’ll Need

If you go around searching for a pizza cake recipe, you’re going to find plenty of recipes that require cooking time, a few ingredients, and your patience. And, since you’re not using your favorite pizza, you’ll also be risking not liking the recipe you choose to cook.

So, at Hungry Howie’s® our pizza cake recipe looks a little bit different. Here’s what you will need:

  • Order 4 of your favorite Hungry Howie’s® pizzas. The size will determine the size of the cake.
  • Request extra Pizza Sauce cups. This would be like your frosting.
  • Find a cheesecake pan at home. A cheesecake pan is the one that has the handles on the sides to take off the outer ring.
  • Butter.
  • Shredded mozzeralla cheese (optional).

Insider Tip: To make this pizza cake even more delicious, order a stuffed crust pizza for an extra layer of cheesiness. Or pick from one of our Flavored Crust® pizzas for extra flavor. If you’re planning a pizza party for your family and friends, you can also order different pizza flavors and have several pizza cake options available for them.

How to Assemble a Pizza Cake

Here’s where the magic happens. With traditional pizza cake recipes, you have to knead the dough, find all the ingredients, and actually take the time to cook the whole recipe. With Hungry Howie’s® pizza cake recipe, you don’t have to worry about any of these, because all your ingredients will be ready-to-use once you get them.

So, once your Hungry Howie’s® delivery order arrives, you can go ahead and open the 4 boxes of pizza. At this point, you also need to take out the cake pan and your butter. Once you have all your ingredients in sight, follow these simple steps:

Step 1: Grease the cake pan using butter, this will help make sure your pizza doesn’t stick to the pan. Also, the butter will give you an extra layer of crust crispiness.

Step 2: Take one of the pizzas and place it into the cheesecake pan.

Step 3: Using a spoon, spread the extra Pizza Sauce over the first layer of pizza.

Step 4: Layer the second pizza over the sauce.

Step 5: Repeat with a sauce layer followed by a pizza layer, until you’ve used all of the pizzas.

Step 6 (Optional): Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the top.

Step 7: Bake on high (400°F) for 10-15 minutes or until the mozzarella cheese turns golden brown.

Step 8: Remove the pan’s ring, and reveal your pizza cake in all its gloriousness.

Insider Tip: We know some of you guys don’t own a cheesecake pan, that’s fine. If you can, carefully pile the pizzas using the same technique with the pizza sauce, and the mozzarella cheese on top. Carefully take the pizza tower into the over to melt the cheese, and enjoy!

In just a few minutes you can go from having a bunch of pizzas in front of you to having a 4-layer, delicious and cheesy pizza cake. Trust us, once you try pizza this way, there’s no coming back to having a single layer pizza cake ever again.
