How to Handle Being Stuck in a Pizza Time Loop on Groundhog Day
Groundhog Day is when the U.S. finds out if they need to continue trudging through snow and ice for six more weeks, or if spring is right around the corner. While some people tune in to see if the groundhog sees his shadows or not, others tune in to catch the classic Groundhog Day movie with Bill Murray.
If you’re unfamiliar with the movie, Groundhog Day follows the story of an arrogant weatherman who ends up stuck in a time loop on, you guessed it, Groundhog Day. Murray’s character wanders aimlessly through the same day’s events trying to figure out how to break the loop. Falling in line with most feel-good 80s movies, the loop finally stops after the main character examines his life and priorities.
The hit film Groundhog Day has become synonymous with repetition. When it comes to pizza, repetition is usually a good thing. There is no guessing game when trying to decide on toppings and you know exactly what you’re getting in terms of flavor. But is too much of the same a bad thing?
What Pizza Would You Eat Over and Over?
What if you were stuck in a time loop and had to eat the same pizza over and over and over and… well, you get the idea. Would this pizza still be your favorite or would you grow bored of eating it?
Pizza is one of the most popular foods in America. When asking people what food they would eat if they could only eat one thing for the rest of their lives, the answer is usually pizza. But, it never really boils down to what if it is only one type of pizza. Most people think pizza would be fine to eat for the rest of their lives as long as the toppings can vary.
If you did have to eat just one type of pizza for the rest of your life, here’s the case for some of America’s favorite toppings:
Pepperoni
Pepperoni pizza is America’s favorite topping, so for many the choice of continuously eating this type of pizza is not a hard one to make. The saltiness and spiciness of the pepperoni complement the richness of the mozzarella cheese.
Italian Sausage
Spiciness wins yet again. Italian sausage provides a little bit of sweet and little bit of heat all atop cheesy goodness.
Mushroom
Interestingly, many people love mushroom pizza. If you’re a vegetarian, mushrooms can provide a little something extra to a plain ole’ cheese pizza. Mushrooms often have a slightly earthy and nutty flavor, which enhance the mozzarella on the pizza.
Howie Maui
It should be no surprise that some Americans love ham, pineapple, and bacon on a pizza. Having a Howie Maui day in and day out isn’t such a bad thing when the pizza is a little bit sweet and a little bit salty. Plus, all that ham and bacon provide protein.
Cheese
Some people just like plain cheese, and there is nothing wrong with that.
So, if you could have just one type of pizza for the rest of your life, what would it be?
